Meet & Greet
Chris Brown Design Ltd offers a free on-site meeting. In this initial stage, Chris himself will meet with potential clients in order to discuss their hopes and expectations. One of the benefits of choosing a small company is that the client can rest assured that contact with Chris will not stop here – Chris will personally oversee the project through from beginning to end. After the meeting a fees estimate will be produced, which breaks down the process and the cost per stage.
Capturing the Dream
The first step in the visual process is to produce a preliminary plan, which includes a basic floor plan and a site layout. Next comes the developed floor plan and elevations, and at this stage there is the option for the client to select the three-dimensional model of the building. By using ArchiCAD – the latest computerised design application – the client is able to see on paper how their home will look, thereby assessing the aesthetics of their home and the feasibility of the layout simultaneously.
The Process
When tweaks and changes have been made, Chris and the team will start on the working drawings. Once these have been produced they are submitted to council (which is a process Chris can handle if that is the preference) before being put out to tender. With a sound understanding of the NZ Building Code and NZ Standards, liaising with consultants, Council and the builders themselves is smoothly and deftly dealt with. Once consent has been issued construction can begin.
